Welcome to HAVEN.

This unified document explains the rules, responsibilities, rights, privacy protections, and legal boundaries that govern your use of HAVEN (“the Service”).
By accessing or using HAVEN, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this document.

If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

HAVEN is built around dignity, privacy, and emotional safety.
This document reflects those values.

1. What HAVEN Is And What It Is Not

HAVEN is a non-clinical, non-diagnostic, and non-predictive emotional-wellbeing companion.
We provide gentle reflections, early-pattern awareness, and supportive micro-steps based on the patterns you choose to share.

HAVEN does not:

  • diagnose mental or physical conditions

  • offer medical, therapeutic, psychological, or clinical advice

  • predict emotional or psychological outcomes

  • detect crises, emergencies, or risk

  • notify emergency contacts

  • replace therapy, psychiatry, or medical care

  • create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship

HAVEN is built for emotional awareness and support not evaluation, treatment, or crisis management.

2. Eligibility

To use HAVEN, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement

  • Use HAVEN in compliance with this document and applicable laws

HAVEN is not intended for minors.
If we discover that a user under 18 has created an account, we will delete the data immediately.

3. User Responsibilities

By using HAVEN, you agree that:

  • You are responsible for your emotional and physical wellbeing.

  • HAVEN’s reflections are not medical, therapeutic, or clinical guidance.

  • You will seek professional help if you feel unwell, distressed, or overwhelmed.

  • You will not rely on HAVEN during emergencies or high-risk situations.

  • You will use HAVEN respectfully and lawfully.

  • You will keep your account information secure.

If you experience distress or crisis, contact local emergency services or a licensed mental-health professional.

4. Non-Crisis Policy

HAVEN cannot and does not:

  • assess risk or harm

  • detect suicidal intent or dangerous behavior

  • provide crisis counseling

  • intervene in emergencies

  • contact authorities or third parties on your behalf

If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number, a crisis hotline, or a qualified professional.

HAVEN is not responsible for crisis outcomes or user reliance during emergencies.

5. Data We Collect (Minimal & Transparent)

HAVEN follows a strict data minimization approach.
We collect only what is necessary for core functionality.

We may collect:

  • Email address (if you choose to create an account)

  • Journal entries or voice-to-text reflections (text only, never raw audio)

  • Optional wearable summaries (high-level sleep/activity insights)

  • Basic usage patterns (e.g., feature interactions)

  • Device type & app version (for functionality and debugging)

  • Consent selections

HAVEN does NOT collect:

  • raw audio

  • precise GPS location

  • advertising identifiers

  • contact lists

  • clinical biomarker data

  • sensor-level heart or health data

  • background tracking

  • data for advertising or profiling

  • data sold or shared with any third party

HAVEN exists to protect you not to analyze or monetize you.

6. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to:

  • operate HAVEN

  • generate gentle reflections

  • deliver micro-steps and supportive insights

  • maintain secure functionality

  • improve the user experience

  • ensure stability and performance

HAVEN does not use your data for:

  • advertising

  • behavioral profiling

  • prediction models

  • medical analysis

  • insurance or employer evaluation

  • resale or sharing of data

No external company receives access to your personal data.

7. Safety Kernel - HAVEN’s Privacy Governance System

HAVEN uses an internal Safety Kernel, a strict privacy and ethics framework that governs:

  • what data may be collected

  • how and where data is stored

  • which systems may access it

  • what is permanently forbidden

  • how long data can be retained

  • when and how data must be deleted

The Safety Kernel ensures HAVEN remains:

  • privacy-first

  • user-centered

  • non-clinical

  • minimal

  • safe

  • governed by explicit boundaries

Nothing enters or leaves HAVEN unless it complies with these rules.

8. Wearable Devices (Optional)

If you choose to connect a wearable (smartwatch, ring, sensor), HAVEN may access:

  • general sleep summaries

  • activity/rest patterns

HAVEN does not:

  • interpret clinical signals

  • read raw sensor data

  • store continuous biometric streams

  • generate medical assessments

You may disconnect your device at any time.
HAVEN is not responsible for inaccuracies in wearable data.

9. Cookies (Minimal & Essential Only)

HAVEN uses only:

  • essential cookies required for security, login, and core functionality

HAVEN does not use:

  • advertising cookies

  • analytics trackers

  • social media pixels

  • cross-site tracking

  • third-party marketing tools

Using HAVEN means you accept these minimal, essential cookies.

10. User Rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data

  • request deletion

  • correct stored information

  • withdraw consent

  • export your data

  • leave optional research

  • stop using HAVEN at any time

11. HDA Research (Optional Participation Only)

HAVEN’s Data Analytics (HDA) Department exists to help improve HAVEN ethically and safely.

Participation is:

  • voluntary

  • opt-in only

  • reversible at any time

HDA may use:

  • aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

  • optional topic themes from journaling (if you consent)

HDA will never:

  • analyze individuals

  • store identifying details

  • use raw audio

  • perform clinical or predictive assessment

  • auto-enroll anyone

  • share or sell research data

Leaving research does not affect your HAVEN experience.

12. Intellectual Property

HAVEN owns:

  • branding, design, and UI

  • micro-steps & HAVEN Moments

  • safety architecture

  • models, frameworks, and language

  • HDA systems

  • the Safety Kernel

  • visual illustrations and assets

Users retain ownership of their journal entries and personal reflections.

You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute HAVEN’s materials without permission.

13. Donations & Support

HAVEN may accept voluntary donations to fund ethical, privacy-first development.

Donations:

  • do not grant ownership

  • do not grant access to user data

  • do not influence product direction

  • are not investments unless formally documented

  • may receive receipts upon request

Donations help HAVEN grow without compromising user safety or privacy.

14. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HAVEN is not liable for:

  • emotional distress

  • mental-health outcomes

  • wearable inaccuracies

  • user interpretations of reflections

  • crisis situations or emergencies

  • data transmission errors

  • service downtime or interruptions

  • indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

HAVEN is informational only and provided “as is.”

15. No Professional Relationship

Using HAVEN does not create:

  • a therapeutic relationship

  • a clinician-patient relationship

  • a duty of care

  • any medical or psychological contract

HAVEN provides supportive guidance not diagnosis, treatment, or therapy.

16. Changes to This Document

We may update this unified Legal Document periodically.
Updates will be posted clearly, and material changes will be communicated to users.
Continued use of HAVEN following changes indicates acceptance.
