HAVEN — Unified Terms, Privacy & Legal Document

Last Updated: 24/11/2025

Welcome to HAVEN.

This unified document explains the rules, responsibilities, rights, privacy protections, and legal boundaries that shape your experience with HAVEN (“the Service”).
By using HAVEN, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

HAVEN is built around dignity, privacy, and emotional safety.
This document reflects those values.

1. What HAVEN Is — and What It Is Not

HAVEN is a non-clinical, non-diagnostic, and non-predictive wellbeing companion.
We provide gentle reflections and supportive guidance based on patterns you choose to share.

HAVEN does not:

  • diagnose mental or physical conditions

  • offer medical, therapeutic, or psychological advice

  • predict emotional or psychological outcomes

  • detect crises or emergencies

  • replace therapy, psychiatry, or medical care

  • create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship

HAVEN is built for awareness and support — not evaluation or treatment.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use HAVEN.
HAVEN is not intended for minors.

3. Your Responsibilities as a User

You agree that:

  • You are responsible for your emotional and physical wellbeing.

  • HAVEN’s reflections are not medical or clinical guidance.

  • You will seek professional help if you feel unwell or overwhelmed.

  • You will not rely on HAVEN during emergencies.

If you experience distress, seek immediate support from emergency services or licensed professionals.

4. Non-Crisis Policy

HAVEN cannot:

  • assess risk

  • detect suicidal intent

  • notify emergency contacts

  • offer crisis counseling

If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a mental health hotline.
HAVEN is not responsible for crisis outcomes.

5. Data We Collect (Minimal & Transparent)

HAVEN follows strict data minimization.
We collect only what is necessary for core functionality:

We may collect:

  • Account email if provided

  • Journaling or voice-to-text reflections (text only, never raw audio)

  • Optional sleep/activity summaries from wearables

  • Basic usage patterns

  • Device type (for app functionality only)

  • Consent selections

We do NOT collect:

  • raw audio

  • precise location

  • advertising identifiers

  • contact lists

  • clinical biomarker data

  • sensor-level heart data

  • background tracking

  • data for marketing or profiling

  • data sold to any third party

HAVEN exists to protect you, not to analyze you.

6. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to:

  • power HAVEN features

  • generate gentle reflections

  • provide micro-steps and supportive insights

  • improve user experience

  • maintain service functionality

HAVEN does not use your data for:

  • profiling

  • prediction

  • medical analysis

  • insurance scoring

  • employer evaluation

  • resale or sharing

We do not allow external companies to access user data.

7. Safety Kernel — The Core of Our Privacy Model

HAVEN uses an internal Safety Kernel, a strict governance layer that defines:

  • what data may be collected

  • how data is stored

  • who/what has access (not humans)

  • what data is permanently forbidden

  • retention limits

  • deletion rules

The Safety Kernel ensures HAVEN always remains:

  • privacy-led

  • user-first

  • trauma-aware

  • minimal

  • non-clinical

  • transparent

Nothing enters or leaves HAVEN unless it clearly aligns with these rules.

8. Wearable Devices (Optional)

Wearables (smartwatch, ring, bracelet) are optional.

If you connect one:

  • HAVEN accesses high-level sleep/rest/activity summaries

  • No clinical signals are interpreted

  • You may disconnect anytime

  • Device inaccuracies are not HAVEN’s responsibility

Wearables help awareness — not diagnosis.

9. Cookies (Minimal & Essential Only)

HAVEN uses only:

  • essential cookies (for security & functionality)

We do not use:

  • advertising cookies

  • analytics trackers

  • marketing pixels
