Welcome to HAVEN.
This unified document explains the rules, responsibilities, rights, privacy protections, and legal boundaries that shape your experience with HAVEN (“the Service”).
By using HAVEN, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please discontinue use.
HAVEN is built around dignity, privacy, and emotional safety.
This document reflects those values.
1. What HAVEN Is — and What It Is Not
HAVEN is a non-clinical, non-diagnostic, and non-predictive wellbeing companion.
We provide gentle reflections and supportive guidance based on patterns you choose to share.
HAVEN does not:
diagnose mental or physical conditions
offer medical, therapeutic, or psychological advice
predict emotional or psychological outcomes
detect crises or emergencies
replace therapy, psychiatry, or medical care
create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship
HAVEN is built for awareness and support — not evaluation or treatment.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use HAVEN.
HAVEN is not intended for minors.
3. Your Responsibilities as a User
You agree that:
You are responsible for your emotional and physical wellbeing.
HAVEN’s reflections are not medical or clinical guidance.
You will seek professional help if you feel unwell or overwhelmed.
You will not rely on HAVEN during emergencies.
If you experience distress, seek immediate support from emergency services or licensed professionals.
4. Non-Crisis Policy
HAVEN cannot:
assess risk
detect suicidal intent
notify emergency contacts
offer crisis counseling
If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a mental health hotline.
HAVEN is not responsible for crisis outcomes.
5. Data We Collect (Minimal & Transparent)
HAVEN follows strict data minimization.
We collect only what is necessary for core functionality:
We may collect:
Account email if provided
Journaling or voice-to-text reflections (text only, never raw audio)
Optional sleep/activity summaries from wearables
Basic usage patterns
Device type (for app functionality only)
Consent selections
We do NOT collect:
raw audio
precise location
advertising identifiers
contact lists
clinical biomarker data
sensor-level heart data
background tracking
data for marketing or profiling
data sold to any third party
HAVEN exists to protect you, not to analyze you.
6. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used solely to:
power HAVEN features
generate gentle reflections
provide micro-steps and supportive insights
improve user experience
maintain service functionality
HAVEN does not use your data for:
advertising
profiling
prediction
medical analysis
insurance scoring
employer evaluation
resale or sharing
We do not allow external companies to access user data.
7. Safety Kernel — The Core of Our Privacy Model
HAVEN uses an internal Safety Kernel, a strict governance layer that defines:
what data may be collected
how data is stored
who/what has access (not humans)
what data is permanently forbidden
retention limits
deletion rules
The Safety Kernel ensures HAVEN always remains:
privacy-led
user-first
trauma-aware
minimal
non-clinical
transparent
Nothing enters or leaves HAVEN unless it clearly aligns with these rules.
8. Wearable Devices (Optional)
Wearables (smartwatch, ring, bracelet) are optional.
If you connect one:
HAVEN accesses high-level sleep/rest/activity summaries
No clinical signals are interpreted
You may disconnect anytime
Device inaccuracies are not HAVEN’s responsibility
Wearables help awareness — not diagnosis.
9. Cookies (Minimal & Essential Only)
HAVEN uses only:
essential cookies (for security & functionality)
We do not use:
advertising cookies
analytics trackers
marketing pixels
cross-site tracking
third-party ad frameworks
Using HAVEN means you accept these minimal, required cookies.
10. User Rights
You have the right to:
access your data
request deletion
correct stored information
withdraw consent
export your data
leave research
stop using HAVEN at any time

11. HDA Research (Optional Participation)
The Haven Data Analytics (HDA) Department supports HAVEN’s improvement.
Participation is voluntary and opt-in only.
HDA research uses:
anonymized, non-identifying usage patterns
optional themes from journaling (if consented)
HDA does not:
study individuals
perform clinical analysis
use raw audio
store identifying details
profile or categorize users
auto-enroll anyone
Leaving research does not impact your HAVEN experience.
12. Intellectual Property
HAVEN owns all:
branding
design
UX
safety architecture
micro-steps
HAVEN Moments
illustrations
language and tone
insights models
Safety Kernel structure
HDA frameworks
You may not copy, replicate, or reproduce HAVEN’s materials without permission.
Users retain ownership of their journal entries and reflections.
13. Donations & Support
HAVEN accepts voluntary donations to support ethical, privacy-first development.
Donations:
do not create ownership
do not grant access to user data
do not influence HAVEN’s design or decisions
are not investments unless formally stated
may come with documentation upon request
Donations help HAVEN grow without compromising privacy or ethics.
14. Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, HAVEN is not liable for:
emotional distress
mental-health outcomes
wearable inaccuracies
user decisions based on reflections
crisis situations
service downtime or errors
indirect or incidental damages
HAVEN is informational only.
15. No Professional Relationship
Using HAVEN does not create:
a therapeutic relationship
a clinician-patient relationship
any duty of care
any type of medical or psychological contract
HAVEN is a supportive tool — not a clinical service.
16. Changes to This Document
We may update these Terms & Privacy rules.
We will communicate changes clearly and respectfully.
Continued use indicates acceptance of updates.
